Pignano Art Gallery together with Accademia Libera Natura & Cultura and Kalpa Art Living would like to invite you to summer evenings in Borgo Pignano of live music & art. On the five following dates join us for a lovely encounter with the visual arts, live music and performance.
From 7:00 to 9:30 pm we invite you to begin the evening with an aperitif and good conversation as we await you in the elegant Pignano Art Gallery for a guided tour of the summer’s exhibition. Please read here for more about this summer’s exhibiton De Rerum Natura.
At 9:30 we continue with live concerts before the mesmerizing backdrop of Villa Pignano. Please see the programme below for the enchanting repertoire.

The duo embodies the essence of a musical genre, which combines opposites like none other does: authentic and timeless, dreamy and unrestrained, down-to-earth and mystical. Between life and death the flamenco resounds. Two gifted instrumental artists declaring their love for pure and genuine music.

Live concert of jazz music
Gwen Sampé & David Sandes | voice & pianoforte
Gwen Sampé is a jazz singer for whom the art of improvisation is an integral and indispensable part of her musical soundscape. Her artistic background is rich and diverse. David Sandes studied classical piano in Arnhem and composing/arranging for jazz orchestra in Rotterdam. He has worked with internationally renowned dancers and jazz musicians. Furthermore David has written two novels which have been nominated for le prix du premier roman étranger, and le prix Européen de littérature 2011.

Live concert of classical music | Beethoven, Ravel, Shostakovich
Dora Bratchova violin & Lilia Boyadjieva pianoforte
Born and educated in Sofia, Bulgaria, Lilia Boyadjieva completed her studies at the Moscow Conservatory P. I. Tschaïkovsky, with Professor T. D. Gutman. Her awards at international piano competitions include prizes at Senigalia (Italy 1979), Vianna da Motta (Portugal 1983), Maria Callas (Greece 1985) and more. Invited by prestigious Festivals (Montpellier, Auvers-sur-Oise, Dublin, Montevideo, Moscow, Taiwan, Athens) she performs in recitals as a soloist, with orchestras and with chamber music ensembles. Very appreciated for her teaching abilities, she has taught at the Sofia Musical Academy, in Athens and Paris (CNR, Schola Cantorum). She gives numerous master classes in Greece, France, Russia and the U.S. Lilia Boyadjieva is also the organizer of the International Piano Competition “De Bach au Jazz” (2013, 2015 in Paris, 2018 in Athens).
Dora Bratchkova has been the first concertmaster of the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie since 2017, as well as an internationally sought-after and established soloist, Primaria of the Rasumowsky Quartet and, since 2003, Professor of Violin at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Mannheim. After completing her studies with Prof. Boian Lechev, a student of David Oistrakh, she won prizes at renowned international competitions (the Bach Competition in Leipzig, the Curci Competition in Naples and the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow). In concert tours throughout Europe and Japan, she appears as a soloist and chamber musician. For many years Dora Bratchkova was a lecturer at the Music Academy in Sofia, Primaria of the Bulgarian Bulgarian Quartet and first concertmaster of the Radio Symphony Orchestra Saarbrücken.

Ruben Peloni Trio | guitar, bandoneòn & voice
For a summer’s evening of passionate tango based mainly on the sung and danceable repertoire and stylistically anchored to the tango of the Guardia Vieja, and the classics of Gardel, Malevaje, Taconeando to the successes of the 40s, the Epoca de oro del Tango.
